Do they have outside tables open right now??
Great place and nice tasty food. Ordered sea food chowder and crab cakes. Nice size portions. Great service and very reasonable prices.
MoreGreat place. Can't complain about the food or people. Friendly staff and food is a good size for the price. Great place for lunch, religious Lent season or Dinner. Plus many choices of fish preparation, so you don't have to have basic battered fish.
MorePlace is small, can't hold a group bigger than 4 really. The service is amazing though, price is reasonable. Gluten free batter is no extra cost. The batter for the onion rings are also gluten free.Fish was nice and moist. Batter was fluffy and crispy. 10/10 would recommend and come again.
MoreNice ambience and super attentive service. The menu was fresh and delicious. Will surely recommend this spot to my friends. Fair prices and generous meals. Keep it up.
MoreThe quality of Halibut was great. The fries were equally as great. Not so much the slaw. The price was a bit expensive but after eating the fish its justified.Froendly staff!
MoreI was disappointed because this place has really good reviews so I decided to order takeout from them. We had halibut and cod but the food was really dry. Even the fries were dry and not that tasty. They prepared the order pretty quick but I think it's because it's not made fresh and the fish sits under a heat lamp for a long time. The only reason why they get more than 1 star is because the onion rings and coleslaw were good.
MoreGreat place for meal! New sidewalk tables, comfortably distanced. Friendly staff, huge portions, and great selection of vegan and non-vegan options to accommodate all tastes.
MoreAmazing, perfectly cooked Halibut that was light and flaky. The French fries tasted like they had just come fresh out of a chip truck on Sauble Beach🏖 complete with skins! Delicious!!!! Pick them up so they aren’t mushy. And, while you’re there, make sure to tip the staff well$$
MoreOff The Hook is literally Off the hook! In that it IS THE BEST FISH N CHIPS IN ALL OF TORONTO! The Halibut is thick and fresh, the house batter is light and perfectly crispy. The coleslaw is perfect, the fries are thick and crispy, the tartar sauce is tasty too! This is my new Fish n Chips place. Check it out! Your taste buds will dance with joy! Oh, plus the owner and staff are amazingly friendly! Cheers guys! :)
MoreI always arrive getting some food here. I loved the rapid service and well prepared dishes. Great work.
MoreNice ambience and super affable service. The meals were crisp and delightful. Will absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Fair rates and generous portions. Great work.
MoreBest fish burrito I've ever had... and I've had many. The seared yellowfin tostada was also wonderful. 👍👍👍
MoreThis place is absolutely top notch! The fish and chips are outstanding (I'm from England so I know my fish n chips!) I would also recommend the fish cakes and they always have a decent but small selection of local beers.
MoreJust finished our takeout from off the hook. It was amazing! My husband had the gluten free halibut and loved it. I had the vegan “fish and chips” and honestly, it was outstanding! The eggplant was a perfect texture and the batter was sooo good. The vegan slaw and tarter sauce rocked as well. I highly recommend.
MoreAs a seafood lover I had high expectations for this place being a fish and chips spot. However, while the service was great the food was far from it. I tried the battered cod, seared yellow fin tuna, creamy coleslaw, brussel sprouts and fries with friends. While we ordered Cajun batter for the cod and Cajun fries we got non-Cajun for both which was dissapointing. Moreover, the cod batter had no flavour, while the tuna was overcooked, bland and dry. The dips, fries and coleslaw were good. Our favourite thing was the brussel sprouts - they were cooked well and had great taste asides from having too much soy sauce (salt). One of us had tried fish and chips here in the past when it was better so it could have just been an off order.
MoreWe go to Off The Hook specifically for their gluten-free batter option for their fish. Fish and fries are cooked in a separate fryer than the flour items so safe for our wheat allergies! Batter is light and easy to eat. Two pieces of fish and a generous serving of fries along with slaw. Tip: Oysters are half-priced on Sundays!
MoreI really love the seared tuna dinner. Delicious. Makes me want to come back time after time.
MoreWent yesterday for the first time. I liked the interior and the vibe/music. Was informed that it was under new ownership(same owners as the edmund burke) I had some fish tacos with a side order of some fries with a couple different dipping sauces. I enjoyed the meal and also had multiple beers that the waiter suggested. I will return as there are other menu items I would like to try
MoreFound my wallet! Thank you staff at Off the Hook for your understanding and patience! Thank you Maki for coming to my rescue and paying for my delicious halibut and chips! No, the fries weren't soggy even after my trip back to Mississauga! Best fish and chips that I've ever had in my 52 years on this earth... I loved that you had so many options regarding batter type, types of sides, and slaw. I'll definitely be coming back particularly when more precedented times return... Thank you!
MoreFish and chips at $25/serving lacking any flavour. Great service. Bland food. In an industry where it’s important to stand out, the food most certainly did not!The Cajun fries had no flavour, the regular fries lacked salt, the poutine lacked curds, and the gluten free batter was boring. I ordered market fish (Catfish) with Cajun fries as well as the Cod with poutine. For a place that has a lot of hype around it I really have no idea why except for the fact that you can get gluten free battered fish, but why bother if it doesn’t taste good.
Morenot the average soggy fish and chips here!!! fresh and fried crispy!! your choice of batters, dips ( not just tartar ) and fish!! haddock, halibut, cod and a daily catch. wash it all down with a local rotating craft brew. quick service so you can pop in before a show at the danforth music hall!
MoreFantastic menu from the seafood to the wine. Appreciate all the gluten free options. Encore!
MoreI wanted to use this restaurant our anniversary. We contact them by email. But no answer already 3 weeks. I don’t want to go Off The Hook in our life. If someone want to use this restaurant for special diner. Please Don’t use it. Customer service is not good. I don’t want you to disappoint and sad special day.Truth is I send email and I didn’t reserve your answer yet. offthehook749@hotmail.com.
MoreNice place. Polite service. The food was very delicious. Quickly cooked in front of us. Very fresh. The sweet potato french fries were delicious. The cod fish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Poutine was very good. Seafood tacos and burritos were super good. The creamy coleslaw was not good at all. Very weird taste. Overall good experience.
